Smartpicks is a UK-based online shop specialising in board games, card games, puzzles, collectibles, trading cards, miniature gaming supplies, and gaming-themed apparel. Ordering & Payment
How do I place an order?
Browse our shop, add products to your cart, and proceed to checkout. You can check out as a guest or create an account to save your details for future orders. Follow the steps to enter your delivery address, choose a shipping option, and complete payment.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. All payments are processed securely.
Is my payment information safe?
Absolutely. All transactions are processed through secure, encrypted payment gateways. We never store your full card details on our servers.
Can I change or cancel my order after placing it?
If your order has not yet been dispatched, contact us as soon as possible at info@smartpicks.co.uk and we will do our best to make changes or cancel the order. Once an order has been dispatched, we are unable to cancel it – but you can return it once it arrives (see our returns policy).
Do you offer gift cards?
Yes. Smartpicks gift cards are available in various amounts and can be purchased online. They are delivered by email and can be redeemed at checkout. Perfect for when you are not sure which game to pick.
Can I use a discount code?
Yes. Enter your discount code in the promo code field on the cart page or at checkout. Only one discount code can be used per order unless stated otherwise.
Do you offer gift wrapping?
We do not currently offer gift wrapping, but all our products are well-packaged and many board games come in attractive boxes that make great gifts as they are.
Will I receive an order confirmation?
Yes. You will receive an email confirmation as soon as your order is placed, including your order number and a summary of what you have ordered.
Delivery & Shipping
Where do you deliver?
We deliver across the United Kingdom, including England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
How much does delivery cost?
We offer free standard delivery on all orders over £50. For orders under £50, a flat delivery fee applies – the exact amount is shown at checkout before you pay.
How long does delivery take?
- Standard delivery: 3–5 working days
- Express delivery: 1–2 working days (where available)
Delivery times are estimates and may vary during busy periods such as Christmas, Black Friday, and new release launches.
Can I track my order?
Yes. Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive an email with a tracking number and a link to follow your delivery. You can also check your order status in your account if you are registered.
What happens if I am not home when my order arrives?
The courier will follow their standard delivery procedures, which may include leaving the parcel in a safe place, with a neighbour, or at a local collection point. You will receive a notification with details.
Do you deliver internationally?
We currently deliver within the UK only. We may expand to international shipping in the future – follow us on social media for updates.
My order has not arrived. What should I do?
If your order has not arrived within the estimated delivery window, please check your tracking information first. If there is no update or your parcel appears lost, contact us at info@smartpicks.co.uk with your order number and we will investigate and sort it out.
Returns & Refunds
What is your return policy?
You can return most items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund, provided they are unopened and in their original condition. This is in addition to your statutory consumer rights.
How do I return an item?
Contact us at info@smartpicks.co.uk with your order number and the reason for the return. We will send you instructions on how to send the item back. Please keep the item in its original packaging.
Who pays for return shipping?
If you are returning an item because you have changed your mind, you are responsible for return shipping costs. If the item arrived damaged, defective, or incorrect, we will cover the return shipping.
When will I receive my refund?
Once we receive your returned item and confirm its condition, we will process your refund within 5–7 working days. Refunds are issued to your original payment method.
What if my item arrived damaged?
We are sorry to hear that. Contact us immediately at info@smartpicks.co.uk with your order number and photos of the damage. We will arrange a replacement or full refund at no extra cost to you. Please do not throw away the damaged item or packaging until we have resolved the issue.
Can I exchange an item?
If you would like a different product, we recommend returning the original item for a refund and placing a new order. This is the quickest way to get what you need.
What if I received the wrong item?
Contact us at info@smartpicks.co.uk with your order number and a description or photo of what you received. We will send the correct item as quickly as possible and arrange collection of the wrong one at no cost to you.
Are opened games returnable?
If a game has been opened or the shrink wrap removed, we are generally unable to accept a return unless the product is faulty. This is because we cannot resell opened games as new. If you believe there is a manufacturing defect, please contact us and we will look into it.
Products
Are your products brand new and sealed?
Yes. Unless specifically listed as pre-owned or a display item, all our products are brand new, sealed, and sourced from authorised distributors.
Do you sell pre-owned or second-hand games?
Currently, we only sell brand new products. If we introduce a pre-owned section in the future, it will be clearly labelled.
Can I pre-order upcoming releases?
Yes. Products available for pre-order are marked on the site with an expected release date. You will be charged when you place the pre-order, and we will dispatch the item as soon as it becomes available. If a release date changes, we will let you know.
What if a product is out of stock?
If something is out of stock, you can sign up for an email notification on the product page. We will let you know as soon as it is back in stock. Popular items are restocked regularly.
How do I know the right age range for a game?
Every product listing includes the recommended age range set by the manufacturer. We also include player count and estimated play time to help you decide. If you are unsure, feel free to contact us and we will be happy to recommend something suitable.
Do you stock rare or limited edition items?
We do carry some limited edition and exclusive items, particularly in trading cards and collectibles. These are subject to availability and may sell out quickly. Follow us on social media for early announcements.
Are your trading card products (booster packs, boxes) weighed or searched?
Never. All sealed trading card products are sold exactly as received from the distributor. We do not weigh, search, or tamper with sealed products in any way.
Do your games come with English rules?
All games listed on Smartpicks include English language rules unless otherwise noted in the product description. If a game is multilingual, we will state which languages are included.
Account
Do I need an account to place an order?
No. You can check out as a guest without creating an account. However, creating an account lets you track your orders, save delivery addresses, and check out faster in the future.
How do I create an account?
Click “Sign Up” or “Create Account” on the website and follow the steps. You will need an email address and a password. That is it.
I forgot my password. How do I reset it?
Click “Forgot Password” on the login page. Enter your email address and we will send you a link to reset your password. Check your spam folder if you do not see it within a few minutes.
How do I view my order history?
Log in to your account and go to “Order History” or “My Orders.” You will see all your past orders with their status, tracking information, and details.
How do I update my account details?
Log in to your account and go to your account settings. You can update your name, email address, password, and saved delivery addresses.
How do I delete my account?
Contact us at info@smartpicks.co.uk and request account deletion. We will remove your account and personal data in accordance with UK GDPR requirements.
